1. Two kinds of refunds
MailChecked offers two distinct refund mechanisms: a 30-day money-back guarantee on unused credit purchases, and an automatic credit refund for any address we mark Valid that hard-bounces.
2. 30-day money-back on unused credits
- Within 30 days of any top-up, you can request a full refund of unused credits from that purchase.
- Used credits (verifications already performed) are not refundable under this policy — see §3 if those verifications produced false positives.
- To request: email billing@mailchecked.com with your account email and the invoice number. We process refunds within 5 business days, returned to your original payment method.
- The 100 free signup credits are not refundable (you didn't pay for them).
3. Automatic refund on false-positive Valid results
- If a result we returned as
validhard-bounces within 14 days of the verification, we credit your account back automatically — no ticket required. - This requires either (a) telling us the bounce by submitting a feedback record via our API or dashboard, or (b) sending a copy of the bounce notification to bounces@mailchecked.com.
- We audit submissions weekly and reserve the right to deny clearly fabricated bounce reports.
- Catch-all, Risky, and Unknown verdicts are not eligible — you were warned.
4. Account closure
If you close your account within 30 days of your last top-up, your unused credits from that top-up are refunded automatically. After 30 days, unused credits remain on the closed account and can be reactivated by signing back in within 12 months.
5. Service failures
If MailChecked experiences extended downtime (more than 24 consecutive hours) and you cannot use credits as a result, contact us — we'll evaluate goodwill credits or refunds case-by-case.
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. Chargebacks bypass these protections and result in immediate account suspension while disputed; we contest them when they're filed in lieu of a normal refund request.
7. Currency and fees
Refunds are issued in the original currency of the charge. Currency-conversion losses or third-party processing fees are not reimbursable.
