Last updated: 20 April 2026. This AUP is part of your Terms of Service.

1. The principle

MailChecked exists to help legitimate senders protect their deliverability and respect their recipients. We will terminate accounts that abuse the service to harm others — without warning, without refund.

2. You may not use MailChecked to

  • Validate scraped or purchased lists where the data subjects have not given a lawful basis for being contacted by you. This is the single biggest cause of suspension.
  • Support spam, phishing, malware distribution, scams, fraud, or pyramid schemes.
  • Harass, dox, threaten, or stalk any individual.
  • Validate addresses for credential-stuffing, account-takeover, or enumeration attacks.
  • Verify lists you intend to send unsolicited bulk email to, including but not limited to CAN-SPAM, GDPR, PECR, CASL, or Australian Spam Act violations.
  • Circumvent rate limits by creating multiple accounts, masking source IPs, or otherwise evading our throttles.
  • Resell, white-label, or sublicense the service without our written consent.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our validation cache, scoring weights, or provider classification logic.
  • Probe, scan, or interfere with the security or integrity of MailChecked or any third-party system you encounter through our service.
  • Submit data you are legally prohibited from disclosing (sealed, classified, etc.).
  • Use the service in violation of applicable law in your jurisdiction or the recipient's.

3. Lawful basis is on you

You are solely responsible for confirming that you have a lawful basis to validate every address you submit. "I bought a list" is not a lawful basis under most modern privacy laws.

4. Reputation hygiene

To protect every customer's results, we throttle bulk jobs based on per-IP, per-provider, and per-domain reputation. We may rate-limit, queue, or refuse jobs that would otherwise damage MailChecked's IP reputation — including jobs that mostly target the same domain or that originate from sources known to be associated with spam.

5. Reporting abuse

If you believe a MailChecked customer is using the service to violate this AUP, email abuse@mailchecked.com. We investigate every report.

6. Enforcement

Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, forfeiture of unused credits, reporting to the relevant authorities, and a permanent ban from re-registration. We have no obligation to provide prior warning.

7. Changes

We may update this policy as new abuse patterns emerge. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
